Baseball & Softball In-Line Backstop Systems

Applications

At Midwest Netting Solutions (MNS), we specialize in designing and installing custom-engineered baseball and softball in-line backstop systems for outdoor fields at high schools, colleges, youth leagues, and professional stadiums.
Our systems are built to meet league standards and regulations, providing safe, durable, and regulation-compliant solutions for all levels of play. The in-line design delivers superior visibility, player protection, and spectator safety, while enhancing the professional appearance of your facility.

Customization

Every MNS in-line backstop is fully customized and engineered to meet your site’s exact requirements. We account for net strength, wind and ice loads, field dimensions, and structural demands to ensure long-term safety and durability.
Each system is engineered to withstand wind speeds up to 115 mph, with a netting lifespan of 10–15 years under outdoor conditions. Our custom-fabricated steel poles are built new for every project, providing exceptional strength and a professional finish that complements any facility.
Unlike many competitors, we fabricate our nets on-site, guaranteeing a precise fit and seamless installation every time.

For those looking for a DIY approach, MNS also provides complete Inline Backstop Kits, including poles, netting, hardware, and installation recommendations tailored to your exact needs.

Materials

Our outdoor in-line backstop systems are constructed using premium, weather-resistant materials designed to perform year after year.

  • Poles: Custom-fabricated from new steel pipe, sandblasted, primed, and finished with a durable black top coat.
  • Hardware: All fittings, cables, and connections are hot-dip galvanized for maximum corrosion protection.
  • Netting:
    • #36 UV-treated nylon for standard baseball and softball backstops
    • #42 UV-treated nylon for batting cages and high-impact training zones
    • HDPE Dyneema® netting for professional stadiums requiring the strongest and lightest fiber available

Each component is selected for durability, safety, and a clean professional look that enhances your field’s visual appeal.
